Who is Ms. Denise Lumpkin? Very modestly, she would say she is a mother of eight blessings, her greatest accomplishments in life. She is a surrendered believer who recognizes she does not have it all together, and because of that, she remains grounded at the feet of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. This foundation shapes her identity and fuels her purpose in providing compassionate, person-centered “Different Abilities” (disability) support services.

Ms. Lumpkin is deeply driven by a passion to see people for who they truly are, not for what others think they should be. She is committed to uplifting individuals who may not yet see the beauty and strength within themselves or may not know how to express it on their own, especially within the developmental disability and different-ability community.

She does not consider herself a hero, but she does stand up for those who feel unheard or worn down by the struggle to have their voices recognized. Through her years of working with the disability community, she has witnessed both the strength of individuals and the gaps in accessible, compassionate care. These experiences have strengthened her commitment to expanding inclusive disability services in Maryland.

Ms. Lumpkin desires to encourage, stimulate, train, and help develop the unique strengths, what she often refers to as the “superpower”, within each individual. She is equally passionate about supporting families and caregivers by offering meaningful respite care services, providing relief not only from physical demands, but also from emotional and mental strain.

Her approach focuses on restoring and restructuring self-care, understanding the how, when, and why, through a combination of life skills training, community integration, respite support, therapeutic approaches, and individualized care plans. Recognizing the growing need for in-home disability support and independent living services, her goal is simple yet powerful: to open the door and be a reliable, supportive option for growth, community, and stability.

Through her continued work with individuals of different abilities, Ms. Lumpkin believes that with structure, stimulation, and a whole lot of love, Kingdom Hearts of Service, LLC can make a lasting impact, changing one life at a time while strengthening independence, inclusion, and quality of life for individuals with disabilities.
